Randomness …

First off, my sweet boy is 5 months today {tear}. I wish I could stop time. He’s changing everyday, growing stronger and I’m afraid to blink for fear that I might miss something. Despite his cuteness, his cradle cap is driving me nuts. The other day during his bath I decided to rub some Burt’s Bees Baby Nourishing Oil on his head. I let it sit for a few minutes, combed his hair {in the opposite direction that it grows} and voila! Cradle cap gone…HOORAY!

Aren’t kids’ minds amazing? Their ability to memorize is frightening at times. We try to do a memory verse once a week in hopes that our kids will hide His word in their hearts. Last year, my best friend Emily introduced me to a great tool for memorizing Scripture. It is called Seeds Family Worship.  The idea of putting Scripture to music is not a new one, but this ministry has got it down! The music is fun and catchy. I find myself listening to it when the kids aren’t in the car. I love that our family is being exposed to Scripture in this way. FYI, when you purchase one cd {$12.98}, you receive two. This is because Seeds Family Worship wants you to pass along your second cd and “Plant a seed.” Awesome! Visit their page, you won’t be disappointed.

I have a new trail mix recipe that I LOVE! If you have a grocery store near you that offers items in bulk, then you’ll be able to make it for a very reasonable price.

2 Cups :: Soy Nuts

1 Cup :: Pumpkin Seeds

1 Cup :: Unsalted Sunflower Seeds

1 Cup :: Craisins

1 Cup :: Dark Chocolate {you can always add more … I do}

Mix together and enjoy! Great for an on-the-go snack! It looks pretty too!

Happy Friday!

    i love your random thoughts. when one of my boys struggled with cradle cap i put hemp hand protector from the body shop on his head and had him sleep in it overnight and combed it out in the morning perfectly. great to know another strategy – we actually have the burt’s bees oil at home as well.

    i love that you are having your kids memorize scripture. i did that really well for a while with having the kids memorize a couple chapters from psalms, but i got lazy and need to start again.

    have a great weekend!
